The Diamond
A Music venue on the fringes of Nottinghamshire.
Project Overview
Diamonds and coal share the same element. The difference is pressure, time, and the bonds that form in between. Brian Ø Hanlon spent eighteen months inside The Diamond in Sutton-upon-Ashton, photographing the venue’s patrons as they kept each other shining through upheaval. The work now lives as a photo book with a companion film suite inviting supporters to hold this microcosm of British culture in their hands.
